Perception of self competency is inversely related to the truth!

अधजल गगरी छलकत जाए।

“The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than is accurate. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their ineptitude” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning–Kruger_effect)

or it could be “cognitive dissonance” working its way to bridge the self-humiliation.

On the other hand, competent people often feel they are highly incompetent – sample this from HBR

“People with above-average aptitudes — the ones we recognize as being especially clever, creative, insightful, or otherwise accomplished — often judge their abilities not only more harshly, but fundamentally differently, than others do (particularly in Western cultures)”

How do one make each one come up to their true full potential and remove inefficiencies of talent and energy…
